Quetzalcoatl was a major deity in the pre-Columbian cultures of Mesoamerica, particularly among the Aztecs and other Nahua peoples. The name Quetzalcoatl comes from the Nahuatl language, and means "feathered serpent" in English.
In Mesoamerican mythology, Quetzalcoatl was the god of wisdom, learning, and wind. He was often depicted as a serpent with feathers, or as a human with a feathered headdress and serpent-like features. Quetzalcoatl was associated with creation, fertility, and agriculture, and was also a patron of priests and rulers.
