This stunning Antique Victorian pendant locket has been modelled in black Whitby Jet. It is an impressive size and features intricate engravings across the front and edges, as well as a large sculpted bale.

It is in excellent condition all round although the bale has a slight hairline crack, which is understandable of an item of this age.

Whitby Jet was brought to the attention of the world by Queen Victoria who used Whitby Jet as part of her mourning attire. Jet is a type of brown coal, a fossilised wood from an ancient tree which today is highly collectable and sought after worldwide.

A beautiful pendant locket which features a Silver rimmed window on the back in which to hold photographs of loved ones.
