A grand antique Victorian locket and collar made in Birmingham in the late 19th Century. Both are fashioned in sterling silver and have been given a bright 18ct yellow gold gilt finish.
The large locket is skilfully chased with ornate patterning across the front which encircles a raised platform in the centre, engraved with beautiful forget me nots, a popular motif on Victorian lockets that represented love and remembrance.
The extravagant collar has a chunky, double cable link design that articulates fluidly and is decorated with chased flowers across the entire length. It leads to two secure bolt ring clasps at the end with an additional length of chain added in the middle to give the locket an extended drop.
It’s an exemplary piece of Victorian craftsmanship and both the locket and collar have remained together and in pristine condition across the centuries.
